All the PSL Awards winners as Lucas Ribeiro dominates and Rele Mofokeng shines again

Mamelodi SundownsLucas Ribeiro was the biggest winner on the night during Tuesday evening’s PSL Awards.

The Brazilian hitman, who bagged 16 league goals, walked away with the PSL Footballer of the Season award, as well as the Player’s Player of the Season gong, and the Betway Premiership’s top goalscorer.

Ribeiro, whose future with Sundowns is up in the air, was given the recognition he deserved after a season where he lit up the league with some eye-catching performances.

For the second season in a row, Orlando Pirates starlet Relebohile Mofokeng was once again named the Young Player of the Season. The 20-year-old also walked away with the MTN8 Last Man Standing award, given to the best player in the competition.

Mofokeng is expected to depart Pirates after the club reportedly reached an agreement over the transfer fee with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.

Pirates’ new teenage sensation, defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi, who is tipped to become the club’s new captain at just 19, won the Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player of the Tournament award.

Tylon Smith, another youngster making a name for himself, walked away with the DStv Diski Challenge Player of the Season award. Smith, who was also named the best player at the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations, recently completed a move to EFL Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

Sundowns' Miguel Cardoso was named the Betway Premiership Coach of the Season.
