Kaizer Chiefs bullish ahead of Sundowns clash as Ngcobo eyes improvement

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to take down Mamelodi Sundowns in Wednesday evening's Betway Premiership at Soccer City.

The 25-year-old's conviction comes on the heels of a successful Nedbank Cup campaign, where Chiefs stunned Sundowns with a remarkable 2-1 victory in April, marking their first piece of silverware in the Premier Soccer League in a decade.

"In the previous game, we showed we can play Sundowns and beat them," Ngcobo remarked, reflecting on the team's game plan that proved effective in their last meeting. "We just have to continue with that. We know Sundowns like to have the ball, so it's up to us to defend well and take our chances when we get them."

Despite a shaky start last season that left him struggling for form and game time, Ngcobo has secured his place back in the Chiefs setup, forming a strong partnership with Thabo Cele in a new, deeper midfield role.
