Siwelele FC will be hoping for better fortunes when they host Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premiership at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium on Friday (7:30 pm kickoff).
Siwelele have endured a difficult spell, suffering three straight defeats after their bright 3-1 victory over Golden Arrows, and now pin their hopes on a return to their supportive home ground to revive their fortunes.
They welcome a Richards Bay side buoyed by their recent 1-0 victory over Chippa United on Tuesday, and although the two teams will not know much about each other with the hosts being the new kids on the block, both will be desperate to return with maximum points.
After their 2-0 defeat to TS Galaxy on Tuesday, Lehlohonolo Seema is hoping for a stronger performance from his men and believes the backing of their supporters in the upcoming match will play a crucial role.
“The second half that we saw against Galaxy, if we start like that in Bloemfontein in front of our supporters, I can tell you it will be very difficult for Richards Bay to come out with points from there. Seema said.
“We also have to defend better, especially the set pieces. Richards Bay are a side that have players that are very quick.
“We just need to ensure that we defend properly and we remain focused the whole 90 minutes."
Through their defeat, Seema was pleased with the return of some key member of his side including Pogiso Sanoka and believes the team is getting close to becoming a finished product.
“The plus that we had against Galaxy was that the players that haven’t played for a long time some of them have come back from injuries, they are back and they played 45 minutes and 90 minutes.
“Sanoka and (Siphelele) Luthuli played 90 minutes, strength wise we are getting there and I am happy with that. We just need strengthening in some departments then the team will be fine.”
