A heated confrontation between Gagasi FM's prominent radio presenter, Minenhle "Minnie" Ntuli, and reality show star Londie London has escalated into a public outcry, sparking a petition for her removal from both radio and television. As a co-host of the flagship morning programme, The Uprising, Minnie's aggressive behaviour, captured in a viral video, has left viewers stunned and calling for accountability.
The altercation occurred during an episode of The Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) on Showmax, where Minnie's fiery exchange with Londie involved her shouting disparaging remarks and pushing Londie in the forehead.
The confrontation began with Minnie angrily throwing down a couch's cushion and getting up to confront Londie, whilst pointing her finger and expressing her displeasure with comments made about her parents, demanding respect while labelling Londie a "mean girl."
The video clip shows Londie, calm and seated, responding with a smile, repeatedly asking, "Wenzani? (What are you doing?)" as she attempts to downplay Minnie's aggressive stance.
In the short clip, Minnie is heard saying, on top of her voice: "Do you hear me? My mother is not your friend, my father is not your friend. My parents have worked damn hard. I am telling you my parents have worked damn hard.
"Don't you ever disrespect my parents... You are a mean girl. You're condescending and now you've found your match, baby. Bye!.. You still work on your back!"
A calm Londie, with arms folded, repeatedly asks: "Wenzani? (What are you doing?)".
Londie continues to say: "Who was the aggressor? You just need an excuse to beat a girl up. You are a bully. You are horrible. You are not my match, sisi."
Minnie is seen pushing Londie in the forehead with her finger, and her head jerks back.
Palesa Mashaba, a concerned viewer, has launched an online petition to remove Minnie from her media roles due to what she describes as violent behaviour. This follows extensive backlash from fans who viewed Minnie's actions as disrespectful and unacceptable.
Many have condemned her for perpetuating a toxic culture in reality television, prompting a broader conversation about accountability in the entertainment industry.
Londie, whose real name is Londiwe Zulu, is pursuing legal recourse for the physical confrontation against Minnie.
In response to the growing outrage, Gagasi FM released a statement affirming their stance against bullying and aggression. The station acknowledged the situation and revealed that Minnie has taken "full accountability" for her actions.
They reported that she expressed remorse and has penned an apology letter directed at the cast and production team of The Real Housewives of Durban, which is set to be shared during the upcoming reunion special.
A few weeks ago, after another disagreement with a cast member, Minnie temporarily locked and deleted some of her social media accounts after being labelled a bully by viewers.
It's not clear what has been the cause of animosity between the two but throughout season 5 of RHOD, they've butted heads in a one-sided rivalry that came from the Gagasi FM presenter towards Londie.
Gagasi FM has committed to addressing the issue seriously, stating that Minnie has vowed to seek professional help to manage her emotional responses. Their statement reassured audiences that they value accountability and will strive for open dialogue in resolving such incidents.
The station said the presenter has committed to seeking professional assistance to better manage her emotional responses.
"We assure our listeners, clients, and partners that we are treating the matter with the seriousness and care it deserves."
