Durban - Three men were found murdered in the vicinity of Sydney Road and Che Guevara (Moore) Road intersection, Durban, on Friday night.
It had been reported by a local community watch that on Friday night, around 11pm, three people were found murdered in the vicinity of the intersection.
However, all necessary authorities were on the scene and police were investigating.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala confirmed the incident and said that Umbilo SAPS were investigating charges of murder.
“It is alleged that on June 4, 2022, at 00.30am, three men aged between 35 and 40 were shot and killed on Che Guevara Road in Umbilo by unknown suspects. They sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body,” Gwala said.
“The matter is still under investigation.”
Meanwhile, nearby, on June 2, the Pro Secure Specialised Response Unit Team was patrolling on Bulwer Road when the officer came across a suspect shooting at a white Toyota Etios.
“The officer was in pursuit of the suspect whilst the driver of the vehicle tried to evade the gunshots and crashed the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and the firearm was recovered,” Pro Secure said.
It added that Umbilo SAPS attended and took control of the crime scene.
