Durban - Two armed suspects were arrested after they robbed a farmer of three guns and cash in Camperdown on Tuesday.
Magma Security and Investigations said that according to the victim, at approximately 10am, she was at her home when she was accosted by two unknown suspects, one of whom was armed with an Okapi knife.
“The said two males then forced the complainant inside the house, demanding the safe keys. Three firearms, a shotgun, pistol and revolver were removed from the safe with a substantial amount of ammunition and R2 300 cash,” Magma Security and Investigations said.
It said that the suspects tied the victim up and then fled the scene.
The alarm was raised and a multi-disciplinary response to the incident was initiated, consisting of Magma Investigations, Camperdown SAPS and local farmers, culminating in the two suspects being arrested.
“All three firearms were recovered as well as the Okapi knife used and the R2 300 cash,” Magma Security and Investigations said.
It said the suspects were detained at Camperdown SAPS.
Police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said a case of house robbery was being investigated by Camperdown SAPS, and that the suspects would appear in court soon.
