Durban – Two would-be home invaders were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday after they tried to gain entry to a premises in Chatsworth, south of Durban.

Pro Secure said that at 2.14am on Tuesday, it received a request for assistance through a WhatsApp group.

“Three men were trying to gain entry into a premises in 750 Road in Montford, Chatsworth,” Pro Secure said.

“Upon arrival, a brief description of the suspects was provided, the area was searched and the suspects were later spotted in Road 602, Trisula Avenue, in Arena Park.”

“The armed response officer pursued the suspects and arrested two of them. They were found to be in possession of a knife, toy firearm and drugs,” the security company said.

It said the Chatsworth SAPS was contacted and the suspects were charged and detained.

Police had not commented by the time of publication.
