Viewers are about to be taken on an emotional journey as the popular hit reality TV show, “Khumbul’Ekhaya” returns to our screens after a hiatus break.
SABC1 has announced the comeback of the popular TV show, on its social media platforms and its website.
“Khumbul’Ekhaya“ is a series that celebrates the healing of South African families through forgiveness and reconciliation.
The new season will feature fan favourite media personality, Andile Gaelisiwe returning as the host. Gaelisiwe has been hosting the long-running show since 2006.
Popular media personality and radio host, Samora Mangesi is the new addition to the new season as a field presenter.
Mangezi is no stranger in the media industry having hosted SABC 1’s axed celebrity gossip and entertainment magazine show “Real Goboza” and currently rocking the airwaves at uMhlobo Wenene FM and TruFM.
This will be Samora’s first TV debut after disappearing on our TV when “Real Goboza” came to an end in 2021.
Regardless of being what you may call, staying behind-the scenes, Samora however did not stay away from the spotlight and drama.
In 2022 the Iqonga Labatsha host was suspended from Umhlobo Wenene due to claims that he came to work intoxicated, which he disputed.
Listeners of the show complained that Mangezi sounded rather off and said that it is Friday when it was not, and they thought that he is drunk.
“Khumbul’Ekhaya” is also popularly known to tackle socio-economic issues such as abuse, addiction, poverty and the breakdown of family structures, which contributes to the reason why there is estrangement of family members.
It highlights stories spark tears and laughter as viewers reflect on their family relationships and move to implement positive changes in their own homes.
The series follows the journey of South Africans going to search for their long lost and estranged family members.
The popular series will make its debut on Wednesday, August 18 at 9.pm.
