Madonna has made no secret of her fondness for younger men.
But Madonna claims her penchant for men ‘three decades’ her junior makes people feel uncomfortable. And she says her refusal to live a conventional’ life has led to her feeling ‘oppressed’.
The 58 year old singer, most recently linked to 26 year old model Aboubakar Soumahoro, has long-pushed sexual boundaries during a 35 year career. Most famously, her 1990 video for Justify My Love was banned from MTV for its X-rated content.

Speaking in Harper’s Bazaar, she said: ‘I’ve always felt oppressed.
‘I know a lot of people would go, ‘Oh, that’s ridiculous for you to say that. You’re a successful white, wealthy pop star,’ but I’ve had the s*** kicked out of me for my entire career, and a large part of that is because I’m female and also because I refuse to live a conventional life. I’ve created a very unconventional family. I have lovers who are three decades younger than me. This makes people very uncomfortable.

The outspoken American star has regularly been linked to younger men. In 2014, she dated 29-year-old dancer Timor Steffens, and before that she enjoyed a two year romance with Brazilian model Jesus Luz, who was 29 years her junior. They split up in 2010. She also had a well-documented fling with 30 year old French choreographer Brahim Zaibat.

Her ex-husband, film director Guy Richie, is nine years younger. In the magazine, she suggested he would try to convince her to retire. ‘And I’m like, “Why do I have to explain myself?” I feel like that’s a very sexist thing to say.
