Summer is about being out and about and since it’s the festive season, most people will be going on holiday to play out in the sun.
In preparation for the fun days ahead, Woolworths launched its first Summer Escape, discussing all things beauty and trends expected to boom this summer.
Meagan Africa, the beauty operations manager, delved into the summer beauty trends to embrace this season.
She also chatted about the importance of customisation as many ladies are taking their skincare routine seriously and are focused on clean beauty.
“Natural radiance and that effortless, summery glow are the beauty trends to watch this season,” Africa believes.
She added that minimalist make-up looks with sheer, dewy finishes, are also a hit in summer.
"This trend is all about embracing a fresh, barely-there look that lets your natural beauty shines through, while still offering a hint of colour and a luminous finish that feels light and breathable.“
And as beauty means something different to each individual, customisation is the next big trend because everyone wants something personalised to cater to their needs.
“We’re excited to have guests test our new skin analysis machine, which is now available for you to try out in select WW stores,” Africa said.
“This innovative technology is part of our commitment to enhancing customer experience and providing tailored solutions for their skincare needs.”
She said that their goal is to ensure that each customer receives personalised recommendations which helps them find the right products.
Africa also added that some people avoid wearing make-up when it’s hot because they think that they constantly have to reapply powder.
But with proper skin preparation, your make-up can last longer even on the hottest days.
“To ensure your make-up lasts on a hot summer day, start by preparing with oil-free or mattifying moisturisers and sunscreen, before applying a primer to control shine,” Africa explained.
“Then opt for long-wearing or waterproof formulas for foundation, concealer and mascara, and set everything with translucent powder.”
“Finish with a setting spray to lock your look in place and use blotting papers or compact powder to touch up throughout the day,” she advised.
When it’s time to remove the make-up, you can always double cleanse by starting with a make-up remover before moving to the cleanser.
