This dark, brooding Batman-inspired Kia Optima is the first in a series of eight cars to be built over the next 10 months in a collaboration by Jim Lee of DC comics, Kia North America and Rides magazine, each one inspired by a character from the Justice League of America.

The Batman Optima sports a batwing-shaped grille that took 40 hours to create, a radical aero kit, yellow LED lighting accents throughout and the iconic bat signal etched into the headlights.

It's finished in matte black with piano black graphics and runs on specially-made 20” rims over Ksport performance brakes and dramatically lowered suspension.
A custom-made stainless-steel performance exhaust system helps the two-litre, direct-injection turbopetrol four deliver 202kW.
Moving beneath the cape, the Optima's seats are costumed in black leather and suede with yellow stitching, and there are utility throwing stars mounted in the centre console, and a Bat-suit and cowl in the boot so the driver is ready for action at a moment's notice.
The car is on display at the Time Warner Centre in New York, with two video screens in the front-seat head restraints that will raise awareness about the worst hunger crisis in 60 years by featuring a special “We Can Be Heroes” video that illustrates how one small act can make anybody a hero.
