Just in case the world hasn't realised that Jaguar is completely serious about putting its gorgeous C-X17 SUV concept into production, the British marque revealed an updated version at the 2013 Guangzhou Motor Show in China.
The latest concept, developed for China, gains a Liquid Bronze exterior paint job and a fifth seat on the inside, along with some tasty interior design elements and advanced infotainment technology - presumably providing some clues about the production version that's set to hit the scene in 2016.
To that end, the concept boasts a multi-screen Interactive Surface Console infotainment network that connects all occupants to the outside world wirelessly. It also has a Rear Exit Detection system to safeguard against approaching blind-spot objects, such as cyclists, while opening the doors.
ALUMINIUM ARCHETECTURE
The C-X17 concept showcases Jaguar's new lightweight modular vehicle architecture that will underpin a whole range of future luxury cars, starting with the firm's new compact sedan in 2015.
Jaguar promises that these vehicles will be offered with a wide range of engines that incorporate the latest fuel-efficient technologies.
These will reportedly include four-cylinder petrol and diesel units in addition to the supercharged V6 engine found in the F-Type, and which offers outputs of 250kW and 280kW.
Expect the production C-X17 to look much like the concept you see here, which Jaguar design director Ian Callum describes as "Assertive and powerful, yet with a beautiful sensuality about it."
According to Callum, the concept was "designed from the ground up from a distinct set of principles, a deep sense of what makes a Jaguar: exciting proportions, clean lines, balance of form."
