Mantua, Italy - Sometimes turning a cliché on its head can be fun. This one started with the Mini in the early 1960s and rapidly spread to Alfa Romeos of all sizes; today motoring journalists will say of any reasonably quick-steering car that "it handles like a kart".

So, to prove a point, Porsche took its hairiest Cayman derivative, the 3.4-litre GTS, with 250kw and 370Nm on tap, and the Sport Chrono upgrade package and active suspension as standard issue, to Europe's biggest indoor karting circuit.
The resulting video is almost claustrophobic in its intensity but proves that, in the right hands, the new Cayman GTS really does handle like a kart.
