“Her courage was her crown and she wore it like a queen,” are words that the reigning beauty queen Lalela Mswane used to share her excitement ahead of the prestigious Miss Supranational beauty pageant taking place in July in Poland.

The reigning queen did her countdown as she shared how pleased she was to be representing South Africa for the second time on a global stage.

Mswane took to her social platforms to share it with her supporters.

“Extremely grateful to be granted the opportunity to once more fly the South African flag high as I grace the Miss Supranational stage in July. I am supra excited to embark on this journey. Your love and support is genuinely appreciated always.”

The Richards Bay-born star did exceptional well on her Miss Universe journey, finishing off as the second runner-up in an event held in Eilat, Israel, in December.

It is believed that the reigning queen would not be the first titleholder to participate in more than one pageant.

Queens from previous years, such as Miss SA 2016 Ntandoyenkosi Kunene, represented SA at both the Miss Universe 2016 and Miss World 2016 pageants.

Jo-Anne Strauss, Bokang Montjane and Tansey Coetzee also graced the stages of more than one pageant.

While the focus in the Miss SA organisation is on Mswane’s journey to Miss Supranational, the organisation has also made innovative changes.

It recently launched an application that adds a new twist to the Miss SA competition by introducing an innovation that will make the process of entry submissions and voting manageable for those who follow the pageantry and those who aspire to wear the majestic crown.

With this newly launched digital platform, one can expect a content hub for all exclusive content that Miss SA 2022 has to offer.

The Miss South Africa Organisation continues to make the entry process as accessible and easy as possible, which means there are no forms to download and no regional auditions to which hopefuls have to travel. Those who wish to enter can simply download the app, answer a few questions, and upload entry pictures.
