Johannesburg - Halo advertising have just released a new 360 map of Joburg that they created for Four Seasons Westcliff featuring some of the best things to do around the city.

Halo used a drone to shoot images in October 2014 – when the Jacaranda trees would be in full bloom. The drone started from top of Westcliff hill.

There was a series of eight photos that were stitched together to form one panoramic image.Once Halo had the photos and panoramic, they created a time lapse video of the journey from the hotel to each pin on the map.

To capture this video, the Halo team filmed over 300km’s of distance around JHB to capture footage for the time lapse for all 18 pins.

The map was originally built as an animation that would be housed on the Four Seasons website, but once it was completed it was decided that it was strong enough to stand alone on its own site – hence www.thisisjoburg.com

The map

The map rotates over Jozi and features 18 various pins of places of interest.

When you click on one of the pins, it loads you into a car and 'drives' you to the destination in seconds.

The map travels to cultural landmarks, restaurants, adventure hubs, and various trendy hotspots in the city.
