Mzansi has been divided after Prince Kaybee weighed in on Relebohile Mofokeng’s future, calling for the Orlando Pirates winger to move abroad following his standout performance over the weekend.
The DJ and producer posted on X: “Mofokeng needs to leave Pirates ASAP, the talent needs to be on a Global platform for him to grow as a player.”
His comment sparked debate among football fans and followers about whether the young star is ready for an overseas move.
The discussion followed Pirates’ 3-0 win over AmaZulu on Saturday, April 18, where Mofokeng delivered a key performance.
He scored a long range goal in the 59th minute, striking from outside the box and sending the ball into the top corner beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.
He also assisted Oswin Appollis earlier in the match, highlighting his growing influence in the squad.
Ndaba played a key role in setting up the goal, placing a precise pass that allowed Mofokeng to finish cleanly. The goal marked his tenth league strike of the season and brought his total to 15 goal contributions in his last 12 appearances.
The result also pushed Pirates to the top of the Betway Premiership table, overtaking Mamelodi Sundowns.
Reactions to Kaybee’s comments were mixed. Some agreed that Mofokeng should be tested in European leagues.
@Phaks_MT wrote: “I'm a Buccaneer and I wouldn't want to lose a player of his caliber, sadly I have to agree with you. The guy should be in Spain or Italy or England next season. Not only him, Appolis as well.”
Others urged caution. @Thobo74708017 said: “The boy still makes mistakes, if he performs well in Bafana then ke.. We can talk.”
@Djmkhakha added: “Well said Prince. The more we keep him here in SA, we're gonna kill his confidence and end up being a normal player. He is top class and when he goes overseas, he's gonna grow more and become our national asset.”
@WandileMasikane wrote: “It would be best for him to leave when he has mastered his craft or else he will be benched."
